The Last of Us: Part 2 developer Naughty Dog has revealed that the studio gained access to assets from Sucker Punch Productions’ inFAMOUS: Second Son to help them build the game’s post-apocalyptic Seattle location.Speaking with Game Informer, Evan Wells made it clear they didn’t actually utilise the assets in The Last of Us: Part 2, but rather, they were a ‘huge help’ in creating a rough idea of how Naughty Dog’s depiction of Seattle would play out in the final product. We said, ‘We’re not going to use the assets in the game, but we want to quickly feel out the space, so can we get access to those assets?’ And they said, ‘Sure,’ and sent it over. We were able to quickly rough out the environment. Let’s double up our efforts.’” The studios were able to “approach the problem together and use similar data, sometimes the same data for both games.”The Last of Us: Part 2 was released in June 2020 for the PS4, and you can read our full verdict here.[Source – Game Informer]
