We knew that Ubisoft was planning to make a mobile game for its third-person shooter RPG franchise Tom Clancy’s The Division. Today, the gaming giant has officially announced Tom Clancy’s The Division Resurgence — a free-to-play game coming to iOS and Android. Like the first game, Resurgence is set in New York City after a viral outbreak, but with a new and independent storyline. Ubisoft confirmed that Resurgence will offer “a unique perspective on key story events that have taken place” in both The Division and its sequel, The Division 2, which launched in 2019.Like the first two installments, Tom Clancy’s The Division will allow players to explore an open world where they can roam freely as they protect civilians from members of hostile factions. Players will have the option to play solo or with friends via co-op. Those interested in participating in the upcoming tests can sign up now. Resurgence is not the only game set in The Division universe currently in development. Last year, Ubisoft announced The Division: Heartland, a free-to-play game by the original Tom Clancy developer, Red Storm Entertainment, which will launch on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. While Heartland was initially set to launch in the 2021-2022 window, Ubisoft quietly delayed the game in October 2021.
