As a final farewell to players and to mark the end of its time developing games, Mimimi Games has announced that it will drop two DLC packs for its latest strategy game, Shadow Gambit; The Cursed Crew, on December 6. Details about what they will add are slim, but we can expect brand-new missions, a new character, and more.Similar to the lack of details, we’re yet to learn the names of the upcoming DLC packs — Mimimi is keeping tight-lipped about its pirate escapades, it seems. The studio has said that each expansion will include “several hours of fresh content,” which includes six original missions in a new story campaign, an “enchanted magical island waiting to be explored,” and a fresh character with unique supernatural powers. The new character is said to be usable in many of the main campaign missions too, so if you’re yet to start the game, you could have someone else to add to your pirate roster. These two expansions will mark the end of game development for Mimimi Games, the studio behind Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun and Desperados III. In August, Mimimi published a statement announcing that, after 15 years of developing games, it will be shutting its doors, calling for other studios to hire its team. The closure comes as Mimimi’s co-founders Dominik Abé and Johannes Roth look to devote more of their time to their families, and said that the sales of Shadow Gambit would ensure the company’s staff would receive bonuses to help with their transition. “We are now focused on delivering the additional content for Shadow Gambit and fulfilling our duties as managing directors of the company — to our team, our fans, and our business partners, in the most supportive way we can. And while we don’t know what the future will hold for the both of us, we still love video games,” Mimimi Games co-founders Dominik Abé and Johannes Roth said. “We had a really good run and we are truly grateful for all of this!”Both expansions will arrive on December 6 for Xbox Series X|S.
