Searching for the best AUG Warzone setup? Now that all of the Call of Duty Cold War guns have made their way to the battle royale game, you have the choice between two very different AUGs. The Modern Warfare AUG is an SMG with an excellent fire rate, capable of killing enemies faster than some of the best assault rifles in Warzone.
Unlocking all of the attachments for this SMG will take a while, but you can transform this weapon into a mid-range monster with the correct loadout. There’s also the Cold War AUG, a semi-automatic tactical rifle that fires in bursts of three. This variation of the AUG focuses on taking down enemies from a distance, allowing you to have the accuracy of a sniper combined with the mobility of an assault rifle.
Our AUG Warzone build guide covers both of these weapons to ensure you have the best AUG Warzone loadout possible. The MW AUG should be used as a secondary weapon in loadouts, whereas you may want to use the CW AUG as a primary weapon due to its long range capabilities.
BEST COLD WAR AUG WARZONE LOADOUT
The best Cold War AUG Warzone attachments are:
- Agency Silencer
- 18.2” Strike Team
- Field Agent Foregrip
- 45 Rnd Speed Mag
- Axial Arms 3x
One powerful aspect of the CW AUG is the lack of any damage drop off when targeting enemy limbs. This can be useful when firing from a distance as you most likely won’t be looking for headshots at long range. To take advantage of this ability, we’ve gone for the Agency Silencer which increases the weapon’s vertical recoil control and speeds up the bullet velocity. The recoil pattern for this weapon tilts upwards, so the extra vertical recoil control is going to be extremely helpful.
The 18.2” Strike Team barrel gives the CW AUG faster fire rate at the slight expense of effective damage range. To further increase this weapon’s accuracy, the Field Agent Foregrip improves both the vertical and horizon recoil control which will drastically improve any shots from long range. Fortunately, this only comes at the cost of the weapon’s shooting move speed, which is irrelevant for a tactical rifle. The nerf to the CW AUG affects shots after the second burst, but this shouldn’t be noticeable to accurate players as the weapon can down enemies using just two bursts.
As for the magazine, we’ve gone for the 45 Rnd Speed Mag as this shortens the weapon’s reload speeds while giving the gun more bullets than the stock magazines. Finally, the Axial Arms 3x lines up perfectly with the rest of the attachments as it allows the weapon to be used at medium to long distances with ease.
Best MODERN WARFARE AUG Warzone setup
The best Modern Warfare AUG Warzone attachments are:
- Monolithic Suppressor
- 407mm Lightweight
- FORGE TAC CQB Comb
- 5.56 NATO 30-Round Mags
- Stippled Grip Tape
You’ll see a lot of people running the 60-Round Drums and some even using a Long Barrel as well, but we find that these attachments add far too much weight to the gun and make it almost unusable in close-quarters battles. Our build actually reduces the weapon’s aim down sight speed while massively increasing its damage and range.
The suppressor will keep you off any radars, and while you may need to think a bit more about when you reload, 30 rounds is still enough to chew through an entire squad solo if you hit your shots.
The Cold War AUG has been given a new lease of life, so definitely give it a try if you haven’t before.
