Marmalade Game Studio just dropped the 2016 Suspects Pack for the digital version of Clue aka Cluedo. If you love this murder-mystery game, you’ll certainly be excited to know that you can now play as some of the iconic characters from that version.

Who Are the 2016 Clue aka Cluedo Suspects?

There’s Miss Scarlet, Colonel Mustard, Reverend Green, Professor Plum, Dr. Orchid and Mrs. Peacock. The new pack is purely about these characters. You’re not tied to any specific crime scene or case files, so you can throw any of the suspects into whatever scenario you want.

The game is giving you the freedom to pick your nostalgic favourite and run with it. And along with that, you can also mix them up with the newer 2023 cast if you want.

Fans of the 2016 version have been pretty vocal about wanting these characters back. Especially since the new 2023 characters showed up and felt a bit too modern for some players. I’m glad Marmalade listened to the requests and dropped this pack.

There’s More Coming to the Game!

Alongside the 2016 Suspects, Clue aka Cluedo is dropping a new mode. It’s the Retro Rules Set game mode that goes even further back, giving you the option to play by the original 1949 rules. The best part is that this mode is completely free.

The Retro Rules Set brings back some old-school mechanics that change how you move and make accusations. For example, tokens will start at specific spots on the board, and Miss Scarlet always gets to make the first move. Unless she’s not around, then Colonel Mustard steps up.

You can’t just make accusations anywhere; you have to be in a room to do it. Plus, Clue Cards are completely cut from this mode, and you can’t move through squares that are already occupied by another player.

So, check out the game on the Google Play Store.
