Nacon and TT Racing have delayed Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown to 2023 and have also cancelled both the Xbox One and PS4 versions of the game. In a blog post over on Steam, the Solar crown team provided a lengthy update on the next entry into the Test Drive Unlimited series, detailing the delay and the development progress on the game. Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown won’t be coming to previous-gen consolesAccording to the Solar Crown team, they need more time to make Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown “the most polished gaming experience in the franchise.” TDU Solar Crown was due to launch sometime this year, but now the team says we can expect it sometime in 2023 instead. Alongside that disappointing news, the Solar Crown team also announced it was cancelling the planned previous-gen versions of the game. “With the aim of making the most of the technology in the latest consoles and maximising the overall quality of the game, Nacon has decided to no longer develop Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One,” the post reads. The team says it will be taking advantage of the extra development time to optimise the game and test it via closed betas. Nacon and KT Racing are currently working on a schedule for the betas and say that some “will get the chance to test the game long before it releases.” More will be announced on those betas soon. What do you make of the delay? Are you disappointed to see the Xbox One get left behind? Let us know your thoughts down in the comments.
