The Wolf Among Us 2 is coming, Telltale has assured players of that on multiple occasions. Since 2019 we’ve been told that it’s happening, with it being delayed multiple times since then.When Telltale last delayed it, part of the reasoning came from the team switching over to Unreal Engine 5, but with the promise that it would be releasing sometime in 2024.Well, we’re more than halfway through 2024, and there’s still no official release date. Today however (Friday, July 12) marks Telltale’s 20th anniversary going all the way back to its original founding in 2004.To celebrate that milestone, it released two screenshots from The Wolf Among Us 2 for players to look at, but not a release date.“Today’s a big day for us,” Telltale began in a post on Twitter. “It marks the anniversary of the OG Telltale’s founding. We wouldn’t be back without you. So, thanks, and enjoy some new TWAU2 screens to start your weekend right.”You can see the two screenshots here:Screenshots are great and all, but we’re now five years out from the game being re-announced. It’s a game that many fans thought would never actually happen.Everyone understands developers should take all the time they need, and that no one can predict how a game’s development is going to go and what problems might arise but it’s been some time since Telltale last gave any concrete update on The Wolf Among Us 2.Fans would surely appreciate it if those updates were at least a little more consistent, or at least there was a bit more transparency around the delay.
