Tekken 8 Game Director Kohei Ikeda has revealed how the upcoming fighting game taps into the PS5‘s power to deliver a true next-generation experience, including the ability to render subtle titles such as dirt, sweat and more in real-time on its extensive roster of characters. Speaking with the PlayStation Blog, Ikeda-san revealed that one of the goals is to simulate intricate movements in the human body, including the “stretching and contraction of muscle.”With Tekken 8, our goal was to replicate the intricacies of the human body, such as the stretching and contraction of muscles and sweat trickling down the skin. For example, the bone structure required to move a playable character in Tekken 8 is more than double that of the previous game. The advanced visuals are achieved through smooth 60 fps that fully utilize PS5’s GPU processing power.Tekken 8 is pencilled in for release on January 26, 2024 for PS4, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.
