Tecno has AI now, because of course it does – it’s 2024 and if you don’t have it, you lose. Or something like that. At IFA in Berlin, Tecno has introduced its “AI Vision”, which isn’t a pair of glasses or contact lenses, but its very own AI feature suite that will “enhance productivity, provide more practical value, and offer easier creative fun”. The features will be rolled out on “Tecno’s outstanding smart device ecosystem” soon.
At the core of the brand’s AI Vision is the revamped Ella AI Assistant, which is “connected to Gemini”, whatever that means. Ella has “smart Q&A conversational functionality”, which means it can engage in conversations with you.
There’s also real-time translation, turning speech into text during phone calls or in face-to-face situations. AI Writing generates summaries of text content, proofreads, rewrites in whatever style you want, and also generates new texts from scratch.
AI Search “lets users learn about the world with the swipe of a finger on the screen”. “All users need to do is circle something on their screen to pull up smart information”. So this is Circle to Search but it’s not branded as such, weirdly. AI Artboard lets you generate “a universe of masterpieces across a spectrum of styles” based just on a text prompt.
AI Erase removes people or objects from photos, AI Portrait Beautification lets you define your own look, and AI Cutout lets you select and extract parts of an image to share in chat or create new images from. Finally, AI Video Production helps you with script writing as well as adding subtitles in post.
