Tecno unveiled the high-end Camon 18 Premiere, also new today are the Camon 18 and 18P models, which feature similar but more affordable hardware (though the company is mum on prices for the three models, so we don’t know how much more affordable yet).

Tecno Camon 18P

Let’s start with the Tecno Camon 18P. Similar to the Premiere, it has a 6.8” 120 Hz display with 1,080 x 2,460 px resolution (20.5:9), though it is an LCD instead of an AMOLED. The display promises to deliver 550 nits of brightness. There is a 16 MP punch hole camera on the front (instead of 32 MP), there’s also an LED flash for the selfie camera, the fingerprint reader is on the side of the device.

The main camera features a 48 MP sensor with electronic image stabilization (instead of 64 MP). There is no gimbal module here, in fact, there is no ultra wide camera at all, which is a bit odd. The P model does have a 13 MP portrait camera with a 50 mm lens (2x magnification), along with a 2 MP depth senor.

The Camon 18P is powered by the same Helio G96 chipset as the Premiere. This 12 nm chip has two Cortex-A76 CPU cores, a Mali-G76 MC4 GPU and a Cat. 13 4G modem. Crucially, it supports 120 Hz operation on 1080p displays, which t he G95 did not. On this phone it is paired with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB storage and runs HiOS 8 (based on Android 11).

The P model actually has a leg up on the Premiere in the battery department. It has a slightly larger 5,000 mAh battery (vs. 4,750 mAh) that supports the same 33W fast charging. The phone comes with a power adapter and cable in the retail package.

We mentioned 4G, the 18P also supports NFC and has a built-in FM radio receiver. The phone will be available in Iris Purple, Dusk Gray and Ceramic White.

Tecno Camon 18

The Tecno Camon 18 dials it back a bit with its 6.8” 1080p+ LCD running at 90 Hz this time. It offers the same 550 nits of brightness.

The phone is powered by the Helio G88 chipset, which uses two older Cortex-A75 CPU cores and a mid-range Mali-G52 MC2 GPU. This model has the same 128 GB storage, but the RAM is a tight 4 GB. Battery capacity remains at 5,000 mAh, though charging slows down to 18W (the charger is in the box).

The Camon 18 features a 48 MP main camera like its sibling. However, joining it are only a 2 MP macro camera and a 2 MP depth sensor. No tele, no ultra wide. On the front is a 16 MP selfie camera with an LED flash. As with the other two, the fingerprint reader is mounted on the side.

The Tecno Camon 18 will be available in the same colors Iris Purple, Dusk Gray and Ceramic White

The Tecno Camon 18 will be available in the same three colors: Iris Purple, Dusk Gray and Ceramic White. Again, launch details including pricing haven’t been unveiled yet.
