Team Secret decided to make two roster changes ahead of the new 2024 competitive season. They are interesting, so let’s learn more about everything.

All of the top-tier Dota 2 teams are preparing for the beginning of the 2024 season, which will be interesting, to say the least. After Nigma Galaxy announced their new team a few days ago, it turns out that another Western European powerhouse will make changes. This time, we are going to talk about Team Secret.

Team Secret Roster Changes

Considering the last two years have been really hard for TS, it’s no surprise the team decided to make another big roster change. This time, Puppey will make two adjustments because Yeik “MidOne” Nai Zheng and Daniyl “yamich” Lezebnyy are no longer a part of the main squad. According to the data, both are benched, meaning they will not be playing for the current season.

Instead of these two, Team Secret welcomes Teng ”Kordan” Tjin and Marcel “Ekki” Holowienko. The latter is an interesting choice because he will be one of Secret’s new supporters and coaches.

These changes were not expected, especially regarding MidOne. After spending around two years in SEA, the player finally returned to his former team, and we expected him to stay for 2024. However, Secret decided to move him to an inactive position just a few months after the move. In other words, MidOne only stayed with Team Secret for around two months. During that time, he played at the ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023, but the team did not perform that well.

In terms of yamich, he was with Secret throughout 2023, but since this was not Secret’s best season, the player did not do much.

The new additions to Team Secret

Considering the Team Secret roster changes, a lot of people are interested in the two new additions. It seems like Puppey decided to follow the steps of other top-tier teams by adding young players who are eager to prove themselves. Kordan and Ekki do not have a lot of experience but are definitely interesting to watch. Kordan, for example, played for Bleed Esports, but the SEA powerhouse could not get out of the Tier 2 dota scene.

Ekki, on the other hand, was the coach of TSM, The Cut and Secret. Now, the coach will have the chance to be a part of the active lineup, so we can’t wait to see him in action.

What’s next for Team Secret?

After the roster changes, Team Secret will have to prepare for the upcoming BetBoom Dacha Dubvai 2024: WEU Closed Qualifiers. Those things will begin on Jan 11, and will feature 8 teams. Expect to learn more information about them soon. For now, this is what Team Secret’s new lineup looks like:

  • Remco “Crystallis” Arets
  • Teng “Kordan” Tjin Yao
  • Miroslav “BOOM” Bican
  • Marcel “Ekki” Holowienko
  • Clement “Puppey” Ivanov
