Survival Ascended staggers console release, comes to Xbox Series X|S first

Ark: Survival Ascended was pushed back on consoles, with Studio Wildcard saying they “fell short” with the console delay. The game has now been given a November release date, and it’s soon — Ark: Survival Ascended is “on track” to come to Xbox Series X|S on November 14. “What a whirlwind of a week it’s been for both our team and all of you. We’ve ridden the exhilarating highs of ASA’s PC release, watching it claim the top spot on the Steam charts, and we’ve ridden the rollercoaster of post-launch LiveOps with its share of hitches and victories. On the flip side, there’s no denying the disappointment accompanying the delay of ASA’s console launch. We felt it, too,” Studio Wildcard says.”We’re on track for a November 14 (Tuesday) launch day… The Xbox version will be up-to-spec with the latest PC functionality as of Nov 14, and will launch directly into crossplay with the PC version (along with new servers, including Xbox-only servers).” In addition, there will be “a new set of Official Servers for the respective game modes (PVP, PVE, and Small Tribes)” which will have temporarily “boosted rates” to help players catch up. You’ll also have the option to play on console-specific servers rather than going for crossplay.The PlayStation launch, meanwhile, is planned for the end of November. Earlier this year, when Ark: Survival Ascended was initially pushed back, it was confirmed to now be launching in Early Access with an adjusted price. Last month, Ark: Survival Ascended had a surprise launch for PC, with a new trailer confirming it had been pushed back again for consoles. “We know there is still plenty more work to be done on all of those fronts, but we’re committed to making Ark: Survival Ascended the best survival game it can be,” Studio Wildcard concludes, adding that there will be more patches, bug fixes, and performance improvements to come, as well as “major feature additions.”
