The PlayStation Store appears to have leaked the release date for Street Fighter 6 after temporarily listing the game as a June 2 launch. As spotted by ResetEra user Neoxon and shared on Twitter (below) by industry insider Wario64, the alleged release date isn’t confirmed as of yet but does contribute to rumours that a full reveal is coming later today at The Game Awards 2022.Three editions of the game were also listed – Standard, Deluxe, and Ultimate – and preordering any of these within a “limited time” grants players “special titles and stickers” alongside costume variants.Street Fighter 6 is releasing on June 2nd, 2023 according to PSN, with Standard/Deluxe/Ultimate Editionshttps://t.co/Zc1p3ZhwX6 pic.twitter.com/73Mjol3mko— Wario64 (@Wario64) December 8, 2022 The Deluxe Edition comes with the Year 1 Character Pass (that will presumably grant the player each new character released over the first year after launch) and the Ultimate Edition comes with the Year 1 Ultimate Pass, which is likely a bigger and better version of the Character Pass that perhaps includes new stages and other bonus bits of DLC.All purchase options on the PlayStation Store will seemingly include Street Fighter 6 on both the PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation 5.The game was announced back in February, with new bits of information being released slowly but surely since. A gameplay trailer showed Chun-Li and Ryu in action alongside newcomer Luke, and Capcom later showed a way to mentally battle your opponents before the match.Jamie and Guile were also confirmed to feature, and at EVO 2022 Capcom announced the return of Juri and first appearance of Kimberly, who comes with a moveset focused on fast-paced jabs and aerial kicks.Players had a chance to try the game in its first closed beta, and its second is just around the corner on December 16. Spots are fairly hard to secure, however, as Capcom is awarding them through a random draw.IGN said its Beta Test 1 was the “best fighting game beta” we’ve ever played, adding that “everything from the presentation, to the stellar netcode, to the gorgeous battle hub, to the ease of finding matches, to the sheer number of options and modes accessible,” was top notch.Ryan Dinsdale is an IGN freelancer and acting UK news editor. He’ll talk about The Witcher all day.
