Stephen Curry won’t take part in the 2021 Olympics and bypassed the chance to help Team USA compete for a gold medal but he has no regrets about skipping the games.

Team USA should win the gold medal at the 2021 Olympics with Kevin Durant and James Harden headlining the men’s basketball team. But it won’t include LeBron James and Stephen Curry who opted out of competing for a chance to help Team USA win gold.

The decision for the Golden State Warriors two-time MVP was a tough one, but also one that he isn’t losing any sleep over.

Stephen Curry has no regrets over skipping the 2021 Olympics

“I do value the offseason,” Curry said. “I am working out, back on the court. But to try to go and play, there’s a lot that can happen…It just wasn’t right for me. Very confident in that decision. No regrets.”

Curry is definitely taking a cautious approach, which is similar to LeBron opting out after a short offseason and lengthy postseason run the year prior. After LeBron and Curry battled through injuries in recent years, both NBA superstars are taking the offseason to let their bodies heal, rest and recover without the risk of injury playing in the 2021 Olympics.

You can understand the decisions from both LeBron and Curry not to participate in the Olympics while also wishing you could see them team up with Durant, Harden and the rest of Team USA go for gold.

With a big offseason looming for the Warriors, Curry is focused on keeping the championship window wide open and doesn’t want to risk injury. After the injury woes of Klay Thompson the last two years and the loss of Durant that derailed a title run, it’s understandable why Curry skipped the Olympics.
