Stellar Blade developer Shift Up had a pretty fantastic 2024. So much so, it gifted its entire staff a PS5 Pro along with a 5 million won bonus.

As reported by Naver, Shift Up held its inaugural “Shift Up Rise Up” ceremony at the JW Marriot Gangnam in Banpo-dong, Seoul, South Korea. At this event, the developer shared its successes and plans for the future. It is here where they gave every one of its employees a PS5 Pro along with a 5 million won bonus. That amount of won is equivalent to $3,400 USD. According to Naver, the developer had 311 employees as of the third quarter of 2024.
The official Stellar Blade X account shared a picture of the mountain of PS5 Pros they were gifting to its staff. There is a video of the staff lining up to grab their console.
“The plus and bonus payments are for the purpose of encouraging talent,” said a Shift Up rep.
Stellar Blade launched for PS5 back in April 2024. It received generally positive reviews, garnering an 81 metascore on review aggregate site Metacritic. It also received nominations at The Game Awards for Best Score and Music and for Action Game. It was recognized further in PS Blog’s Game of the Year awards. It won for Best New Character (Eve) and received nods for Best Story, Graphical Showcase, Audio Design, Soundtrack, Use of Dualsense, PS5 Game, and Studio of the Year.
Shift Up’s critically acclaimed action game is also one of several PS5 Pro enhanced games available now. It introduced High Frame Rate Mode as well as optimized Balanced and Resolution Modes for the console’s newest iteration.
