With so many of you unlocking the Starfield achievements during its early access period, it should come as no surprise that Bethesda’s epic space RPG saw a huge influx of players when it finally released on September 6. According to Microsoft’s head of gaming, Starfield saw a huge one million concurrent players on release day. Starfield exceeds one million players on Xbox and Steam”Starfield exceeded 1 million concurrent players across all platforms today,” Spencer wrote on X. “Thanks to all the players who helped us reach this great milestone, and congrats to Bethesda Studios.”Before the RPG had even launched, our data showed that Starfield was this year’s biggest Xbox release, with nearly 90,000 TrueAchievements members playing the game in early access. Even after just a few days of being available in early access, Starfield managed to top our Xbox Gameplay Chart, beating out perennials Fortnite, Call of Duty, and Minecraft. We expect Starfield to stick around in first place on our Xbox Gameplay Chart for quite some time, especially after seeing some of the shenanigans players have been getting up to. We’ve seen players have sex to reduce the achievement grind, hoard 20,000 potatoes on a ship, recreate some iconic Halo spaceships, and turn Phil Spencer and Todd Howard’s faces into flashlights. As for our thoughts on Bethesda’s latest, our Starfield review is now live.
