Bethesda has given us a deeper look at Starfield and many of the activities we’ll be able to experience when exploring the universe on Xbox Series X|S and PC.Starfield adopts a NASA-punk style to give its overall look a grounded feeling. Bethesda has given us a much closer look at its upcoming space epic during the Starfield Direct ahead of the game’s launch on Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Xbox Game Pass later this year.Starfield gameplay deep-dive trailerExploring Starfield’s many planets will see us gathering materials and uncovering numerous locations and stories, offering us a chance to craft our own story. Starting out, we’ll only be able to travel to systems and planets closest to us, so we’ll need to upgrade our ship if we hope to travel further afield. Ships can be upgraded in all manner of ways, which Bethesda gave us a glimpse of by showcasing a myriad of ships designed by its developers, from animal-style vessels to mechs — you can even make a space for holding all of the sandwiches you find on your travels if that’s what you’re into.On top of customizing our ship, your Outpost serves as a base of operations where you can store all of the items you find when exploring the more than 1,000 planets and build resource-generating buildings that slowly accrue needed materials while you’re away. It’s also a great place to upgrade your weapons, and Bethesda has packed in a massive arsenal for us to use, from swords and handguns to mini-guns and land mines. You’ll be able to find and use a host of attachments on them as well due to Starfield offering more customization options than any other Bethesda Game Studios title. There was so much content revealed during the showcase, so if you’re interested in playing Starfield when it launches on September 6, it’s definitely worth checking out the deep dive video above.
