Even if you’ve finished up with the Stardew Valley achievements, it’s not like anyone would ever need too much persuasion to go diving back into what is easily one of the best indie games on Xbox. If you did, however, that persuasion might very well be the Stardew Valley’s upcoming 1.6 update, which according to creator Eric Barone — ConcernedApe — contains “a lot more… than people think.”Stardew Valley update 1.6 “adds so much stuff”Stardew Valley update 1.6 already has a PC release date of March 19, with console and mobile to follow afterward at an as-yet unspecified date. On the plus side, Barone says it’ll be “as soon as possible” and has already spoken about how the delay between updates on PC and console was a “nightmare”.Now, speaking to Polygon about the Stardew Valley: Festival of Seasons live concert, Barone also discussed update 1.6. One of the most interesting parts of this discussion is that Barone says, “There’s a lot more of the update than people think,” and that what we’ve seen already “is just a little bit.” Update 1.6 is, apparently, “more focused on the valley and the core areas of the game. It just adds so much stuff to all the different aspects of the game.” This sounds ideal for adding even more replayability to a game which you can already get hundreds upon hundreds of hours of enjoyment from.“The releases are the most fun part of game development,” Barone added. “It’s when you actually see people playing it and talking about [the game] and sharing their screenshots. So I’m really looking forward to that. It’s also a time of high intensity. The patch is pretty much ready to go. But there’s a few things I still need to do. Until everything is totally sealed, it’s going to be a little bit stressful.”We already knew, for instance, that update 1.6 is bigger than first planned with “major new content”, and that while an old save will still serve you well, Barone recommends a new one just to experience everything “in context.” Update 1.6 also adds a new “major” festival and two new smaller ones, as well as new items, new dialogues, new crafting recipes, new outfits, new late-game content, and more.Until update 1.6 makes it over to console, we’ve got a list of all the best Xbox Game Pass games to tide you over in the meantime.
