Stardew Valley is celebrating its eighth anniversary, and over that time it’s become known as the quintessential cozy-farming game that anyone can and should play, if they have even a slight interest in the genre. It’s been a massive success for solo-developer Eric Barone, a.k.a. ConcernedApe who announced in a social media post that the game has amazingly reached over 30 million copies sold, and that players can expect a new update coming first to PC on March 19, 2024.Players on consoles and mobile platforms will also be getting the update, though it won’t be ready for those players right away, and will follow the PC release “as soon as possible.”“It’s the 8th anniversary of Stardew Valley. Thank you for all the support over the years! Today I am announcing the PC release date for the 1.6 update: March 19. Console and mobile will follow as soon as possible. With a new update on the horizon, a worldwide concert tour underway, an official cookbook coming soon, and now over 30 million copies sold, Stardew Valley is thriving more than ever.”With a new update on the horizon, a worldwide concert tour underway, an official cookbook coming soon, and now over 30 million copies sold, Stardew Valley is thriving more than ever. As always, I’m eternally grateful to the players (you!🫵) for making all of this possible.— ConcernedApe (@ConcernedApe) February 26, 2024The last big sales update from Stardew Valley was that it had reached more than 20 million copies sold back in 2022. In little less than two years time, it’s a sign of just how good of a game Stardew Valley is that it continued to sell another 10 million copies in that short period.Source – [ConcernedApe]
