PayDay 3 developer Starbreeze Studios has revealed it is exploring the possibility of removing the game’s always-online requirement, following a rocky launch for the heist-’em-up that has seen the game pulled offline for a short time this week.PayDay 3 allows you to replace human teammates with AI bots, but you have to be connected to the server due to the always-online requirement, hence making this option unavailable while issues continue. However, this feature could be removed going forward, as Starbreeze revealed in the following statement:Payday 3 matchmaking infrastructure has not performed as tested and expected. Matchmaking software encountered an unforeseen error, which made it unable to handle the massive influx of players. The issue caused an unrecoverable situation for Starbreeze’s third-party matchmaking partner.A new version of the matchmaking server software was gradually deployed across all regions leading to improved performance. However, a software update made by the partner during late Sunday again introduced instability to the matchmaking infrastructure. The partner continues to work to improve and stabilize Payday 3’s online systems. In the short-term, this means Starbreeze’ focus is to ensure the player experience. In the long-term, this means evaluating a new partner for matchmaking services and making Payday 3 less dependent on online services.Related Content – Sony PS5 Complete Guide – Everything Explained About PlayStation 5 For New Owners In 2023 PayDay 3 launched for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S on September 21, although the launch period was dogged by matchmaking issues.[Source – VGC]
