Stalker 2 will join the Stalker Trilogy in supporting mods on Xbox Series X|S

Players diving in to collect the Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl achievements following its launch on Xbox Series X|S and PC will be able to use player-created mods. It’s unclear if Stalker 2 will support mods on Xbox on day one, or if GSC will roll it out after, but it’s great to know that the upcoming Game Pass game will utilize them. GSC Game World confirms Stalker 2 mod support on Xbox Series XSAs confirmed by GSC Game World technical producer Yevhenii Kulyk during an interview with Radio Times Gaming, the team is “creating and preparing a big toolkit that will provide the mod makers with all necessary tools to create mods from the smallest ones, to like, big total conversions.” The Stalker series has a deep history with mods, with third-party creations like the Anomaly and Gamma mods breathing new life into the original trilogy. In fact, Kulyk says that some of GSC Game World’s team were mod makers for these games. “We are aware that our player base, especially the old ones, are waiting [to see] that our game will support mods as well,” Kulyk says. “We are bringing the mods to console, so they will be available on the Xbox as well as the PC.”Back in June, the Stalker: Legends of the Zone Trilogy received a free update on Xbox that enabled console mods, but unlike some other games supporting mods on Xbox, it doesn’t disable achievements.
