Square Enix teases Dragon Quest 3 Remake for Xbox Series X|S

We could soon be able to start collecting the Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake achievements, as Square Enix appears to be teasing the impending reveal of a new Dragon Quest game coming to Xbox Series X|S and other platforms, believed to be the Dragon Quest 3 Remake announced in 2021.A new Dragon Quest game “draws near,” Square Enix teasesSquare Enix has teased that “The legend of Erdrick draws near” via a social media post for Dragon Quest Day 2024. The post includes a short video, which just says “The legacy begins,” as well as revealing that the game will launch on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC via Windows and Steam.Dragon Quest 3 originally launched over 30 years ago in 1988, taking players to the chronological beginning of the Erdrick Trilogy of Dragon Quest games. Now Square Enix is implementing its HD-2D style for the Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake, which it has used for a number of games since 2018 including Octopath Traveller. We don’t know what Square Enix is planning to reveal the game, but with Summer Game Fest kicking off next month — including the Xbox Games Showcase and Call of Duty Direct — there is a good chance Dragon Quest will be revealed during a Square Enix showcase this summer. Square Enix recently announced that it plans to “aggressively pursue” a new multiplatform strategy, which includes Xbox.
