Players collecting the Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 achievements will soon have a new co-op mission to battle through, as Saber Interactive will roll out the first new Space Marine 2 Operations mission soon. We don’t have an exact date yet, but it’ll arrive later this month for the third-person shooter Xbox game. A new Operations mission will arrive for Space Marine 2 this monthSpace Marine 2 has been a phenomenal success for Saber Interactive, becoming the biggest Warhammer 40,000 game to launch on Xbox, and it looks like the team isn’t wasting a second. In the latest Space Marine 2 monthly blog on Steam, Saber has announced that the first post-launch Operations mission will roll out to players in the coming weeks, taking us back to Planet Kadaku to make life difficult for the Tyranid Hive Ships waiting to collect the planet’s biomass. The team has offered us a brief synopsis of what we’ll be doing.”The Tyranid invasion of Kadaku is ending. The planet’s organic material is being transformed into biomass, and Tyranid Capillary Towers stretch high into the skies above, where the Hive Ships wait to taste their victory. The Cadian forces have made a valiant attempt to push back against the Tyranids. A team of Space Marines arrives on Kadaku with a simple mission: help the Cadians destroy the towers. The Tyranids may win the planet, but the Imperium will make it as painful as possible for them.”As we know from the Space Marine 2 roadmap, this upcoming mission will be a free update for all players. Interestingly, the image shared with the news of this new mission is the same one used in the roadmap for the new PvE missions teased for Season 2, so perhaps we can expect more content to be announced in the coming weeks. Season 2 is expected to also add a new Lethal difficulty, a Neo-Volkite Pistol, and another enemy variant to the game for free, while Season Pass owners will also get Dark Angels cosmetic packs. The initial roadmap was filled with free DLC and Season Pass cosmetics, but Saber Interactive chief creative officer Tim Willits has said that “adjustments” to the roadmap will be made in the wake of the game’s success. Apparently, there are already ideas being shared for potential story DLC and even Space Marine 3.
