The Space Marine 2 devs are already teasing some 2025 content fans can look forward to in the Xbox third-person shooter. Whether you’re still defending the Imperium for the Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 achievements or have already nabbed the completion, it looks like we’ll have plenty of reasons to return.Space Marine 2 gets horde mode, Battle Barge expansion, and more in 2025Space Marine 2 gets PvP updates, a horde mode, a new Salamander Champion, and more this year.Developer: Saber InteractivePlatforms: Xbox Series X|SSaber Interactive has teased some of the content Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 content fans can look forward to in 2025. This year, the team plans to add a new PvP map alongside custom PvP lobbies, even more PvE content, including Prestige Rank, a Battle Barge expansion in the form of the Datavault, a new Salamander Champion for Season Pass owners, and more. While we’ll need to wait until “later in 2025” for the upcoming horde mode — a feature I’m extremely excited for! — Season 3 will introduce Prestige Rank for PvE, which will give you more upgrades for your favorite classes. More Operations and new enemies will also arrive in the coming months alongside new rewards and yet another difficulty level to blast through.Season Pass owners will also be able to unlock the new Salamander Sniper Champion for PvE and PvP. Saber says, “An obvious choice for the Sniper Champion would have been to be a Raven Guard, but we have different plans for them,” so we can look forward to a Raven Guard champion in the future — surely that’ll be for Assault, right? As for the new PvP content, custom lobbies will arrive with Patch 7.0, allowing you to host up to 6v6 matches, change time and score limits, and remove the limits on how many players can use each class. A new map is on the way too, although we don’t currently have a name for it. Saber says, “It will be set in a closed environment with many narrow passages pushing you to engage more in closed quartered battles).”Finally, there’s the Battle Barge, which is getting an upgrade this year alongside new customization elements to represent “iconic Chapters from the Warhammer 40K universe,” like the Mark VI Corvus. The Battle Barge’s expansion will add the Datavault — a new area filled with unlockable information you can purchase with a currency linked to in-game achievements. In other shooter news, the fantastic Insurgency: Sandstorm will be leaving Xbox Game Pass this month alongside five other games. Will you be returning for more bug-splattering action in Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 this year?
