Sony Reveals European PlayStation Gamers Earn More Platinum Trophies Than Players In US

Sony Interactive Entertainment has revealed during a presentation at CEDC 2022 that European PS4 and PS5 gamers are likely to rack up more Platinum Trophies than players in North America.The presentation was headed up by Sony’s Tokyo Global Developer Technology Department chief, Kenjo Akiyama, who offered a gander at the behaviour of PS4 & PS5 users in the US, Europe, Japan and Asia.The study revealed that Japanese players on Sony’s last and current-gen consoles have an overall higher Trophy completion rate per title, which means that they likely stick to one game for a while and unlock many Trophies before moving on to something else.Related Content – Sony PS5 Complete Guide – Everything Explained On PlayStation 5 For New UsersElsewhere, Akiyama-san’s study disclosed that gamers in Europe and Asia (not including Japan) are most likely to scoop Platinum Trophies, and those in North America are least likely to obtain them. However, while Japan is also among the regions here players are least likely to earn Platinum Trophies, gamers in that country tend to scope them for more difficult titles than the west.As such, the study concludes that gamers in Asian territories have something of a “never give up” mentality that results in them determined to conquer the most difficult games to earn their shiny reward.[Source – 4Gamer via VGC]
