Sony‘s latest investor presentation contained a little snippet of info that up until now somehow slipped through the cracks: the format holder apparently will be done with PS4 by 2025.The company revealed its outlook for 2025 in terms of releases, and PS4 is conspicuous by its absence. There’s no mention of the console anywhere, with half of the graph dedicated to PS5 alone. PC and mobile are also featured, accounting for 30% and 20% of releases during that period, respectively. To be fair, this isn’t too surprising considering Sony always pledged to support the PS4 for around ten years. The console was released in 2013, which means the console maker will presumably continue to make games until around 2023. Beyond that, PS5 will understandably be the main focus.Related Content – Sony PS5 Complete Guide – Everything Explained On PlayStation 5 For New UsersAs reported last week, Sony is not done with its recent acquisition spree, and the hardware manufacturer is planning a 50/50 investment split between new IPs and existing franchises by fiscal year 2025.Unsurprisingly, Jim Ryan, the CEO and President of Sony Interactive Entertainment reckons PS5 will be the corporation’s biggest ever platform.[Source – IGN]
