Sniper Elite 5’s latest trailer shows off the various game modes and features that are coming with the game’s launch later this month, and we get a glimpse of the upcoming Invasion Mode and multiplayer.Sniper Elite 5 has its sights set on a May 26th launch date for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, PC, and Xbox Game Pass. The latest trailer released by Rebellion highlights the game modes that’ll be available upon launch.Sniper Elite 5 game modes and featuresThe game’s campaign mode will see the return of single-player and co-op play, plunging players into France in 1944 during the events of the D-Day operation. After uncovering a Nazi plot, series protagonist Karl Fairburn takes to the shadows behind enemy lines to thwart the enemy’s so-called Operation Kraken plans and remove its mastermind, Abelard Möller, from existence. While the campaign certainly sounds like it’ll be as fun and engaging as the previous entries in the series, it does have a fresh twist: Invasion Mode. This mode sees other players randomly join your game (if you choose to enable the feature) as Axis snipers with the goal of putting a bullet between your eyes, or any other part of your body for that matter. If pure multiplayer is what you’re after, Sniper Elite 5 will offer four game modes with “all format cross-play” enabled and the ability to create your own matches. Many aspects of the series have been enhanced for this next outing, such as Kill Cams being added to pistol and SMG clinical kills, and rifle kills — the Kill Cam will now show bullets ricocheting off bones for more glorious gore! In addition to the Kill Cam enhancements, each weapon features even more visual detail and have their own unique feel and characteristics. Each weapon can be upgraded at in-game workbenches and modified using a range of sights, stocks, magazines, barrels, and more, so you can approach each mission as you see fit. Once you’re in the missions or multiplayer, you’ll have new traversal mechanics to play with; vines can be climbed for new routes or vantage points and secret locations can be uncovered, which can aid you in stealthy takedowns or guns-blazing onslaughts. Will you be taking shots at Nazis when Sniper Elite 5 launches later this month? Let us know down in the comments!
