Konami has spoken more about Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater and revealed that more Metal Gear Solid remakes could be on the way if there is enough fan demand.Speaking with IGN about the recently-announced Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, Konami spoke more on Kojima’s involvement with the remake, what’s going on with the game’s voice actors, and if any more remakes were in the works. Kojima not involved with Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake EaterWhen the remake was announced, there were questions surrounding Metal Gear Solid 3 director Hideo Kojima and his involvement in the project despite his breakup with Konami. Unsurprisingly, a Konami spokesperson has confirmed to IGN that both Kojima and art director Yoji Shinkawa are not involved in the remake. Konami’s developers will be taking a “central role” on the project as they have been “involved in the production of the past [games in the] Metal Gear series.” They will work alongside Virtuous, which has also been “involved in the production of previous entries in the Metal Gear series.”According to Konami, the reason why it’s remaking Metal Gear Solid 3 over the original Metal Gear Solid is that the developer considers the third game in the series to be the start of it all. “We chose Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater because it depicts the birth of Big Boss (Naked Snake), which is the starting point of the Metal Gear series,” a Konami spokesperson said. “Another reason is that many fans have been requesting a remake of this game for a long time.”When asked about potential future remakes of other Metal Gear Solid games, Konami said it would “listen to player demand and consider accordingly.”With Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, Kojima made the controversial decision to recast the voice of Big Boss, switching out the iconic David Hayter for Hollywood star Kiefer Sutherland. If you were worried about Sutherland or some other voice actor taking on the role of Big Boss once more, don’t be, as Konami has confirmed that all of the character’s voices from the original game will remain the same in the remakes.
