Now that you’ve managed to claw yourself away from Baldur’s Gate 3, you’re probably looking for a similar RPG to invest far too much time into. Modern games like Witcher 3, Elden Ring, and Skyrim might scratch that fantasy itch, but if you want to revisit the Forgotten Realms, then BioWare’s two original games are a must. Luckily for you, they’re both are dirt cheap on Steam, but you’ve got to act fast.
While they’re not visually on par with Baldur’s Gate 3, the original games from Mass Effect and Dragon Age developer BioWare are still groundbreaking RPGs. If you like BG3’s penchant for DnD rules, like being at the whim of dice rolls for instance, the first two games are going to be right up your street.
CRPGs are coming back in a big way, between the likes of Sovereign Syndicate on Steam and Unforetold Witchstone from the creator of the Forgotten Realms universe itself, so if you want to experience some of the games that helped birth the genre, Baldur’s Gate 1 and 2 are great places to start.
So if you’re excited about Baldur’s Gate 3 patch 6 but need something to fill the void, the first two Baldur’s Gate games, both of which come with online co-op if you can convince a friend to part with a few dollars, are available cheap for a very limited time via Fanatical. Both games are also Steam keys if that’s your platform of choice.
Both Baldur’s Gate games are at a 90% markdown, but you’ve got to act fast. You have until Wednesday, January 31 at 8am / 11am ET / 4pm GMT, and 2am AEDT on February 1 to snag the two games. Expect to pay $3.99 / £2.99 until then.
