Swashbuckling pirate romp Skull & Bones is finally out after numerous delays, but things aren’t all that ship shape for the game according to a report on Insider-Gaming, which claims it has fewer than one million players. If that isn’t grim enough, this figure includes free trial players.Sources speaking to the site state that Skull & Bones stands at around 850,000 players in total, which isn’t exactly encouraging for a game that Ubisoft has trumpets as its first ‘AAAA’ game. However, players do at least seem engaged in Skull & Bones, spending an average of three-four hours per day. One employee who worked on the game attributed the low player count to the fact Ubisoft is charging $70 for Skull & Bones. “I think we all know this is a $30-$40 game at best, but it’s not in our control to determine those things,” they commented.
