Development of the game started out as an expansion to Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, before Ubisoft decided to make it a standalone title outside of that series’ universe.Originally announced at E3 2017 during Ubisoft’s press conference, Skull & Bone was delayed countless times that would ultimately mean it wouldn’t finally see the light of day until nearly seven years after its reveal.
