Out of nowhere, a PC version of Raven Software’s sci-fi first-person shooter Singularity has been listed on the Xbox store, which could suggest Microsoft is gearing up to drop more Activision games on Game Pass soon. However, if you were hoping to unlock some new Singularity achievements on PC, you’re going to be disappointed. Xbox 360-era shooter Singularity returns to Microsoft Store with new PC versionThe store listing, which appeared yesterday, notes that this version of Singularity is a “legacy title and does not have Xbox Network (formerly known as Xbox Live) capabilities, settings, or control features.” This means that you won’t be able to unlock any Xbox achievements or play online multiplayer in the PC title. Singularity is a first-person shooter developed by Raven Software and published by Activision. Originally released in 2010 for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC, you play as a U.S. special forces operative who is sent to investigate a mysterious island where a Soviet experiment fractured space and time. Armed with a weapon that allows you to manipulate time, you must shoot your way through enemies from the past and future to stop the singularity and save humanity. The Xbox 360 version is not currently backward compatible and has been delisted, but with this PC port appearing out of thin air, fans are hoping that the 360 version could make a comeback and join Game Pass. In recent months, we’ve seen a fair few Activision titles get Microsoft Store PC versions out of nowhere. It started with Spyro Reignited Trilogy and was followed by Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 and Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy. When games have gotten random PC ports in the past, it’s usually a sign that they are coming to Game Pass soon, but so far, just Crash has made the jump into the subscription service. Could Activision be gearing up to drop a load of its back catalog of games, including Singularity, into Game Pass? Let’s hope so.
