Conor McGregor threatened to kill Dustin and Jolie Poirier in their sleep.
It was a wild night to say the least and it just keeps getting crazier.
Following the UFC 264 main event between Dustin Poirier and Conor McGregor, Poirier said that McGregor was threatening to kill him. We all assumed he meant McGregor’s pre-fight warning but now we know he meant in the moments following the TKO.
In a new video released on Twitter, you can see McGregor laying on the canvas and threatening to kill Poirier and his wife, Jolie.
“In your sleep you’re getting it, in your sleep you’re dead, you and your Mrs, it ain’t over,” he’s heard saying.
A photo circulated shortly after the loss of Jolie flipping of McGregor and now we know a bit more context behind that viral moment as well. To say there is bad blood between McGregor and the Poirier’s is an understatement.
“Conor said some nasty stuff that didn’t make it on Embedded,” Poirier said at the post-fight press conference. “Maybe when the behind-the-scenes for this fight airs, you’ll see him on the ground still saying some really bad stuff. But even that stuff being said, I don’t wish serious harm like that on nobody. The guy’s got kids. I want him to go home safe to his family. I pray before these fights.
This is not the first time McGregor has overstepped with his trash talk, and actions. He’s been in trouble with the law multiple times and his former opponent, Khabib Nurmagomedov, was so upset by his antics a full out post-fight brawl ensued.
Needless to say, this is not a good look for McGregor whose reputation and popularity is on the line.
