December ushers in more Xbox server closures for players to grapple with, and to help you figure out which games to prioritize over the coming weeks, we’ve listed all of the planned server closures for next month. Xbox server closures planned for December 2024When Gun Interactive announced the Friday the 13th: The Game server closure back in June 2023, the publisher said servers for the asymmetrical horror game would “continue to function through at least December 31, 2024.” It’s possible the game’s multiplayer could remain active for some time after that date, but it’s not guaranteed. To be on the safe side, you’ll want to grab the 34 achievements that will be discontinued once the server closure hits as soon as possible. It’s worth noting that three achievements have already been discontinued and that Friday the 13th: The Game has been delisted from the Xbox store. If you are thinking of tackling the completion, you’ll want to get involved in some of the Friday the 13th: The Game boosting sessions, where you can work through the game’s achievement list with other TrueAchievements members. As for NBA 2K23, both Xbox versions of the basketball sim will lose online functionality on December 31, 2024. In the Series X|S version, 28 online-only achievements will be discontinued when the servers go dark, whereas in the Xbox One version, 38 online achievements will be discontinued. One achievement has already been discontinued in the Xbox One stack. In other server shutdown news, October saw server closures announced for three Xbox games, including Realm Royale Reforged and Divine Knockout.
