Xbox servers for Spectre Divide and Stampede Racing Royale will close soon after developers of the free Xbox games both independently announced server shutdowns of their titles. All Xbox achievements in these games will be discontinued following their server closures. Spectre Divide and Stampede: Racing Royale server closures announcedMountaintop Studios is shutting down free-to-play FPS Spectre Divide in the “next 30 days”Sumo Digital will take free kart racer Stampede: Racing Royale offline “in approximately three months’ time”Xbox achievements will be added to Stampede: Racing Royale in a new Season 1 updateThe free-to-play first-person shooter Spectre Divide launched on February 25, 2025, and Stampede: Racing Royale was released into early access back in July 2024, so it’s pretty wild to see server closures already announced for these two games. Spectre DivideHere are the Spectre Divide achievementsSever closure date: No specific date announced but “within the next 30 days”Platforms: Xbox Series X|SSpectre Divide is a 3v3 tactical first-person shooter where you can control two bodies in real-time, allowing you to defend two areas at once, rush a lone enemy, and even provide yourself cover. It’s an interesting concept, but according to developer Mountaintop, the free-to-play game didn’t see enough active players or incoming revenue to keep the game and studio open.”It’s been two weeks since we launched Spectre Divide Season 1: Flashpoint. We’re incredibly grateful for the positivity and support that you’ve shown over that short time,” Mountaintop said. “Unfortunately, the Season 1 launch hasn’t achieved the level of success we needed to sustain the game and keep Mountaintop afloat.”We were optimistic about the first week. We’ve had ~400,000 players play, with a peak concurrent player count of ~10,000 across all platforms. But as time has gone on, we haven’t seen enough active players and incoming revenue to cover the day-to-day costs of Spectre and the studio.”Mountaintop goes on to say it will take Spectre Divide “offline within the next 30 days” and it plans on “disabling new purchases and refunding money spent since Season 1 launch via the platforms.” More information will be coming soon. As for the game’s achievements, as Spectre Divide is an online-only game, all achievements will be discontinued once the servers eventually go dark. If you want the completion on your tag, it might be worth setting up or joining a gaming session to work through the achievements with other TA members. Stampede: Racing RoyaleThe Stampede: Racing Royale achievements will be added in a Season 1 update coming shortlySever closure date: No specific date announced but the game will go offline in “approximately three months’ time”Platforms: Xbox Series X|S, PCStampede: Racing Royale is a free-to-play kart racer that launched into early access back in July 2024. Unfortunately, Sumo Digital says that “due to a variety of unexpected events,” support and server availability for the game “will end in approximately three months’ time.” An exact sever closure date will be announced soon. When Stampede: Racing Royale sped onto Xbox Series X|S and PC last year, it did so without a list of achievements. Interestingly, despite the impending server closure, Sumo says it will be adding Xbox achievements to the game in a Season 1 update.”We have chosen to roll out our remaining unreleased content for Stampede in the Season 1 update, which will release on Steam and Xbox in the coming days,” Sumo said. “For Xbox players, achievements are now added, so top up your Gamerscore with Stampede — and earn an exclusive headgear item by unlocking all achievements.”Will you be rushing to grab the achievements from either of these games? Let us know down in the comments. If you missed it, Phoenix Labs announced it’s shutting down free-to-play action-RPG Dauntless in May.
