Matthew Goldman, the Senior Creative Director of Dragon Age, has left BioWare for a second time after racking up more than 20 years at the company over two tenures.Goldman’s departure was first outed by Kotaku, who got hold of an internal email sent yesterday by studio GM Gary McKay. An Electronic Arts representative also confirmed the news separately. The email from McKay reads:Hi everyone,I hope you are well. I’m writing to inform you all that Matt Goldman is leaving BioWare. We have mutually agreed to part ways, and his last day is today. We understand that Matt’s departure has an impact on you, as well as the game’s development. Rest assured our commitment to a high-quality Dragon Age game has not waivered, and we will not ship a game that is not up to BioWare’s standards. We, including EA’s executive team, have absolute confidence in the leadership here at the studio and the people working on this game to carry forward our vision.Goldman first joined BioWare in 1998 after earning a degree in visual communications. He spent seven years at the company before joining Microsoft, where he spent three years. Goldman returned to BioWare in early 2009, and has since held several roles while working on the Dragon Age franchise.“Matt Goldman is no longer working at BioWare,” EA told Kotaku. “He leaves the next Dragon Age game in excellent hands, with the team here at the studio who will carry forward our vision for the game.”Dragon Age 4 is reportedly only in development for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.[Source: Kotaku]
