Though he didn’t get the finish, Sean Strickland dominated Uriah Hall at UFC Vegas 33

A little less than a year after returning to the Octagon from a devastating motorcycle accident, and in his first UFC main event, Sean Strickland now guarantees himself a spot in the middleweight top-10.

Strickland scored a dominating win over Uriah Hall in the main event of UFC Vegas 33.

Striking of Sean Strickland leads him to big, one-sided victory over Uriah Hall at UFC Vegas 33

The two started the fight by trading on the feet, with Strickland seeming to get the better of Hall with his forward pressure and jab.

Hall landed a power shot and tried to take control of the fight as the second round started. Strickland fired back and overwhelmed Hall, but Hall got his groove back and put up a spirited effort. Hall’s energy seemed to disappear, however, when Strickland continued to pour on the pressure in the third round.

After completely dominating that frame, Strickland continued to work over Hall in the fourth. Hall seemed to have no answer by this point. Strickland rocked him and appeared to be near a finish but couldn’t pull the trigger for the finishing blow, at one point taking the fight to the ground when he had Hall in trouble.

Hall swung with what he could in the fifth round, but it was no use.

All three judges scored the fight for Strickland, with totals of 50-44, 50-45 and 49-46.
