Sea of Thieves’ disabled Season 11 Xbox achievements now appear to be unlocking

Late last month, Rare disabled the new Season 11 Sea of Thieves achievements, seemingly due to them unlocking at random for players. Now, after some tinkering with the list and a large update, it appears that Sea of Thieves’ disabled Season 11 Xbox achievements are now live and can indeed be unlocked once more. With the start of Season 11, Rare released a new list of achievements for Sea of Thieves. This list included achievements for completing tutorial voyages, using the game’s new fast travel to complete voyages, and earning a distinction in a trading company — all standard stuff. However, we soon started seeing reports of these achievements unlocking at random for players, and it seems that Rare was quick to act on this by disabling the newly added achievements for all players.Last week, Rare made some pretty drastic changes to the Season 11 achievement list. In what appears to be an attempt to fix the disabled achievements and provide a fair solution for all players, Rare reduced all of the achievements added with Season 11 to zero Gamerscore, changed their requirements to be super simple, and rereleased the original set of achievements for players to unlock again. Now, following a whopper of an 88 GB update, the in-game warning notifying players that the Season 11 achievements were disabled has been removed, and we are seeing a bunch of players beginning to unlock the achievements. This is despite the recently updated Sea of Thieves Known Issues page stating that achievements are still down. While the Season 11 achievements were disabled, Rare said it tracked players’ progress. Hopefully, if you met the requirements for these achievements while they were down, they should unlock without needing to do everything again, though we have been unable to confirm if that is the case. Sea of Thieves — one of the best Xbox Game Pass games — is rumored to be one of the four Xbox exclusives heading to rival platforms, which means we could see a few more pirates on the high seas soon.
