One of the best feelings you can get in a building game is when you look down at all you’ve created, taking pleasure in thousands of machines working to bring order from chaos. It’s a feeling you can get in titles like Infinifactory, Factorio, Dyson Sphere Program, or Satisfactory, but one of its purest forms comes in Shapez 2. It’s been making waves in early access since August, but now it has just had its price slashed in a sale that should bring it to a much bigger audience.
Many building games wrap what you’re doing up in a framing device, even if it’s just harvesting the surface of a planet in order to build stuff. Shapez 2 proves you don’t need any of that, as it asks you to combine, split, and create shapes to feed into an endless black hole at the center of a floating platform. By stripping back everything to its basics, it allows you to engage with its gameplay directly with nothing in between you and the game’s mechanics, while also giving you the freedom to just build, build, and build.
Shapez 2 is definitely already a hit, with it smashing past 150,000 copies sold in just three days along with its colossal 98% ‘overwhelmingly positive’ rating on Steam. Its developer isn’t satisfied with just standing still either. Recent updates have seen the community engaged in ideas for a new game mode, details about what’s yet to come and the game’s future plans, and much more.
Now, Shapez 2 might leap to new heights thanks to a sale which has seen it hit its lowest price ever. While this offer is time-limited, you won’t have to move too fast, as it’s running for a lengthy two weeks.
Shapez 2 is currently 25% off until Monday November 25, taking its price down to $18.74 / £14.99 from $24.99 / £19.99. Head over to Steam to learn more, and to check out the game for yourself.
