Samsung started teasing the Galaxy Ring in late February and then released the product five months later. The wearable has been selling in a number of markets for a while now, and the company decided to share more real-life experience from its own personal point of view a long time after the reviews were out.

The company shared a number of cool videos showcasing the user experience while unboxing the new wearable. The Galaxy Ring comes in a transparent plastic case packed in a neat black retail box.

The ring sits in the center of the case, with an LED light around the device to indicate the battery capacity. The Galaxy Ring comes in eight sizes, from 5 to 13 in US sizing.

Samsung offers the Galaxy Ring in three color finishes for its titanium body – Black, Silver, and Gold.

The charging case can indicate the battery level with a press on the center button, and the battery can be filled through the USB-C port. Samsung’s article did not mention that, but wireless charging is also supported.

The company was keen to point out that washing your hands with the Galaxy Ring absolutely fine, as it is 10 ATM water resistant.

The ring has three sensors on the inside – for skin temperature, heart rate, and an accelerometer. These track all kinds of health data and then visualize it on the Samsung Health app. Interestingly enough, Samsung says the Galaxy Ring app “must first be paired with a Galaxy smartphone,” but in reality, it works with any phone that has the Health app installed.

Samsung left one major question at the end of its unboxing — how you can find the right size for you? When a purchase is made through the Samsung online store, you get a free sizing kit shipped to you first so you can pick the right size. Or you can just pop into a Samsung Experience Store if you have one nearby.

Samsung Galaxy Ring supports some air gestures, but according to the fine print, they work only with devices with One UI 6.1.1, which are only the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6.
