Only a month ago Samsung brought the Galaxy M32 to the Indian market, a Helio G80-powered 4G smartphone. Now it’s partnering with Amazon to deliver a 5G version of the phone.

The Samsung Galaxy M32 5G will be powered by the Dimensity 720 chipset – a 7nm part fabbed in TSMC’s foundries with two Cortex-A76 cores (2.0GHz) and a Mali-G57 MC3, which should provide a solid performance boost over the 4G model. The new chipset enables faster 5G connectivity, Amazon is advertising support for 12 bands: n1, n3, n5, n7, n8, n20, n28, n66, n38, 40, n41 and n78. Also, Samsung will deliver two OS updates to the phone.

There will be some other changes compared to the 4G model, including the switch from a 64MP to a48 MP main camera. Similarly, the 20MP front camera will be swapped out for a 13MP module. Also, the battery capacity is getting reduced to 5,000mAh (the Indian M32 has a 6,000mAh battery).

And if that wasn’t enough, the screen will be downgraded as well – the M32 5G will pack a 6.5” 720p+ display, an LCD running at 60 Hz, judging by the lack of claims to the contrary. For comparison, the 4G model has a 6.4” Super AMOLED display with 1080p+ resolution and 90 Hz refresh rate.

The Samsung Galaxy M32 5G will launch on Amazon India on August 25 at noon. It’s too early to talk about pricing, but as a point of reference the Galaxy A22 4G (6/128GB) goes for INR 18,500, the A22 5G (6/128GB) is slightly more expensive at INR20,000. The M32 4G currently starts at INR17,000.

Will we see the new M-phone in, say, Europe? That is unclear so far, but the Galaxy A03s that was unveiled in India yesterday is headed to the Old Continent – leakster Roland Quandt says it will start at around €150 for a 3/32 GB unit.
