The Galaxy A16 5G was first announced in October, and today Samsung has unveiled its release plans for the device in the US. The A16 5G will become available on January 9 from Samsung.com as well as unnamed national retailers and carriers.
It will set you back $199.99 and will be offered in Blue Black and Light Gray color options. The US-bound Galaxy A16 5G is powered by Samsung’s own Exynos 1330 SoC.
It comes with a 6.7-inch 1080×2340 Super AMOLED screen with 90 Hz refresh rate and 800-nit peak brightness, a 50 MP main camera, a 5 MP ultrawide, a 2 MP macro camera, a 13 MP selfie snapper, and a 5,000 mAh battery with support for 25W wired charging.
It runs Android 14 with One UI 6.1 on top and will receive six major Android updates, taking it all the way to Android 20. You’ll get six years of security updates too, and the update promise is definitely one of this phone’s main selling points against its competition.
