A report on Insider Gaming has claimed that Call of Duty: Black Ops — Gulf War, which is the as-yet unconfirmed Call of Duty 2024 entry, will fully embrace an open-world setting for its campaign. While the franchise has previously dabbled in this area — Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 used Open World Missions using assets from previous titles — Gulf War’s own effort will be built entirely from the ground up. According to the article, the sandbox setting will see the player and their squad explore the map in a similar manner to Far Cry than Call of Duty,, with vehicles and a fast-travel system all featured. Furthermore, the game will see the return of a number of Black Ops characters, including Adler, who will be part of your squad. Looking further ahead, Insider Gaming notes that Call of Duty 2025, which has yet to see a developer attached, may also featured an open-world campaign. Keep in mind that nothing official has been confirmed by Activision regarding Call of Duty 2024 or beyond, so take this with a pinch of salt for now. However, this isn’t the first time we’ve heard whispers about this year’s gaming being a Black Ops title, as we heard similar reports last November. In addition, in July last year it was claimed that actor Luke Charles Stafford was cast as the main character in Call of Duty 2024, although that has yet to be confirmed.[Source – Insider Gaming]
