A report on Insider Gaming has claimed that Call of Duty: Black Ops — Gulf War, which is the as-yet unconfirmed Call of Duty 2024 entry, will fully embrace an open-world setting for its campaign. While the franchise has previously dabbled in this area — Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 used Open World Missions using assets from previous titles — Gulf War’s own effort will be built entirely from the ground up. According to the article, the sandbox setting will see the player and their squad explore the map in a similar manner to Far Cry than Call of Duty,, with vehicles and a fast-travel system all featured.
