Sometime yesterday, an anonymous poster claiming to be a “disgruntled Naughty Dog employee” leaked Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet‘s plot. The so-called leak sounds pretty dubious, but as we’ve come to expect, it didn’t take long for the post to start making rounds, amplified by social media accounts with a large number of followers. However, it has been confirmed that the plot is fake.
Fake Intergalactic plot leak reminds us of the infamous The Last of Us Part II leak
Sony studios are no strangers to leaks, but Naughty Dog arguably suffered the most due to the infamous plot leak from The Last of Us Part II, which came from an employee of an external partner. The subsequent backlash continued for years after the game launched. Since then, the studio has fallen out of favor with a certain section of the gaming community, and is frequently targeted by it.
Intergalactic’s reveal last week also polarized fans, prompting some harsh reactions on social media. It’s no surprise, then, that the fake plot started making rounds with a number of folks believing it’s real. However, journalist and insider Jason Schreier confirmed on Bluesky that the alleged leak is fake.
We’ll find out more about Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet officially in due course. In the meantime, it’s safe to assume that this “disgruntled Naughty Dog employee” is a troll.
