The upcoming Battlefield 2042 will feature the ability to play a series of classic remastered maps via the new Battlefield Hub, according to reliable leaker, Tom Henderson.DICE and EA have yet to officially confirm Battlefield Hub at this point, but have previously hinted about it in the shape of a mystery mode known only as ‘redcated’ on the game’s official website. The description is as follows:Created as a love letter to our core fans, a new way to play Battlefield is coming. Discover unexpected battles and enter the wide universe of Battlefield with this experience.However, Henderson has elaborated on this, revealing it’s known as Battlefield Hub and will give players access to a variety of classic maps from past Battlefield games, fully spruced up and running on the Battlefield 2042 engine.Battlefield Hub is going to contain remasters of maps from old Battlefield titles. It’s going to be [maps] on the Battlefield 2042 engine. The movement and stuff like that is going to be exactly the same, but you’re essentially playing on a remastered map with different weapons and vehicles from past Battlefield titles.Battlefield 2042 is pencilled in for an October 22, 2021 release on PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One.
