The TrueAchievements Game of the Year 2023 vote is here. We’ve brought together 32 of the best Xbox games of the past year in a single elimination tournament that will be decided by you.In Round 6, we have EA and Koei Tecmo’s monster-hunting game battling it out against the Croteam’s first-person puzzle experience The Talos Principle 2. Wild Hearts goes into this round with the advantage of being available in the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and EA Play libraries, so we are expecting the new monster-hunting IP to take an early lead. However, with the first game proving a hit with puzzle fans, The Talos Principle 2 still could put up a good fight.To prevent two serious contenders from taking each other out early doors, we’ve seeded the games so the major AAA releases were placed into the top bracket while smaller indies went into a second tier. Hopefully, this will leave some room for an upset or two. We’ve also mitigated for Baldur’s Gate 3 should it release before the end of the first round knockouts — keep an eye on The Game Awards for that Baldur’s Gate 3 Xbox release date. For those looking for the more traditional GOTY vote, we will be running that later in the month — this one is just a bit of fun to get some discussion going around this year’s best Xbox games.
