Ronald Acuña barely missed getting drilled by line drive in Braves dugout (Video)

The Atlanta Braves flew Ronald Acuña and their injured players out to the World Series, but they also put him in harm’s way.

Give Acuña credit — despite the fact that he’s out for the season, he’s still quick on his feet. These are some Matrix reflexes.

Acuña had his back to the play on what was a foul ball from the Houston Astros. Acuña would surely be the first to tell anyone else NOT to turn their back to the play. Of course, you never really think of it until it’s you.

Braves win Game 1, but at what cost?

Acuña was fine, but that’s not really what we’re talking about here.

The Braves won Game 1 behind home runs from Adam Duvall and Jorge Soler, and a solid performance from Charlie Morton. Sadly for Morton, he was pulled well short of what his final scoreline could’ve said, as he fractured his fibula. The Braves veteran will miss the rest of the season, but should be back in time for Spring Training.

As for Atlanta, winning a World Series was the primary reason why they added Morton. Seemingly, they expected to get at least two outings from him in this Fall Classic.

Brian Snitker must now turn to other members of the World Series roster — and at least one replacement — to fill in for the pitching staff.
