Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night has received a free patch that introduces Ubisoft’s Child of Light protagonist, Aurora, as a playable character — this will be anything but a lighthearted adventure for the young princess, though.Child of Light was released back in 2014 and took players on a storybook adventure to help a young princess, Aurora, save the land of Lumuria. It seems that Aurora wasn’t quite done with adventuring, so after a bit of a break, she is embarking on a new quest. It doesn’t look like any new Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night achievements have been added, but you can play through the game as Aurora now by choosing her from the main menu. The free patch sees you help Aurora break Hellhold’s curse in a brand-new storyline, which features rhyming cutscenes and dialogue inspired by Child of Light. Aurora comes equipped with her own moves and abilities like the Light Ray that blasts enemies with elemental damage — she can even become an adult and learn to swim, gain a pair of wings, and wear spike-proof armour. Aurora won’t be alone, either, because her firefly companion Igniculus will be joining her on this new adventure. He can augment Aurora’s abilities with passive boosts and slow enemies with spells. Igniculus’ abilities can be levelled up by gaining experience through combat.Aurora’s crossover into Bloodstained also allows her to use Miriam’s friend Johannes for upgrades, as well as collect skill-boosting shards and access the passive Familiar and active Conjure shards. Each shard represents one of Aurora’s lost friends and will give her some of their own powers for her adventure. You can now experience the Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night and Child of Light crossover event for free. Will you be embarking on this new adventure over the weekend? Let us know down below — by rhyming, if you can.
