VALORANT and League of Legends developer Riot Games has announced the creation of an events programme for local fans, called Riot Play Club.

Riot Play Club allows partnered venues to organise small-scale events supported by Riot in the United Kingdom, Ireland and the Nordics.

According to Riot Games, the programme aims to foster a better relationship between fans of Riot’s games and the company. Moreover, Riot Play Club will look to be a place for fans to ‘celebrate the games they love.’

At launch, Riot Play Club events will be offered in several locations in the UK and Norway, with more venues announced in the future. As of right now, there are seven locations in the UK, including Sidequest in London (Charing Cross and Elephant Park), Razer Store London, Pixel Bar (Leeds and Manchester), Sidequest Coventry and New Meta Islington. In Norway, Oslo’s Eldorado is the only location named for now.

Riot Play Clubs will only require fans to show up on the nights of activations and events to participate. The company noted that there will be many different activities to take part in, including quizzes, ARAMs, competitions in Arena and other rotating game modes, as well as watch parties for Worlds and VCT tournaments. During these large-scale Riot events, visitors can expect Riot merchandise and other items handed out as prizes.

Riot also added the following appeal to fans: “As the programme grows, Riot will also be looking to interested members of the community to help coach newer players, explain more advanced topics, lead quizzes, or drop some knowledge bombs from the expansive world of Riot Games lore.

“Those who are already community leaders for any of Riot’s games, in any capacity, should keep their eyes peeled on socials for more information about how they can get involved.”
