Valorant, the free-to-play 5v5 tactical shooter from Riot Games, is officially heading to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, the company announced today during Summer Game Fest.Players will be able to access Valorant for Sony and Microsoft’s console beginning with a limited beta that kicks off on June 14, which is rolling out in the US, Canada, UK, Europe and Japan. We were adamant thatVALORANT’score, competitive gameplaymust feel natural on a controller; and-if wecouldn’t deliver on that gameplay promise-we hadto be prepared to walk away from it. We hope we nailed it, but ultimately, our players will havethe final say.The PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of Valorant feature “custom-built” gameplay, which upholds its strict level of core, competitive gameplay. However, Riot Games has confirmed that Cross-PLay will not be available between PC and console players during player matches, a decision made in order to “maintain Valorant’s renowned standard for competitive integrity.”Having said that, PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S will be have access to shared inventory and gameplay progression tied to their Valorant account, and patches will be released simultaneously across all formats, as will new agents, maps, premium content and live service content.
